Volunteering During COVID-19

2020 proved to be a challenging year as the majority of our events were canceled due to local COVID-19 ordinances but we are determined to continue to raise much-needed funds to help continue our programs.

In 2021, we will continue practicing recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines and to put the safety of our volunteers, donors, and staff as a priority. We hope that you can join us in person at an event but understand if you wish to help in other ways.

To learn how you can help virtually, please contact danielle.gunter@sayes.org or call (210) 298-8800.

Volunteer Appreciation

Jake Luna first volunteered with SA YES in June 2019 for Celebrity Fan Fest. After this 3-day event he didn’t hesitate to sign up for our 2-day event in October 2019 – Celebrity Fan Fest Preview Con.

Since then, Jake has volunteered at numerous events benefiting SA YES including multiple Texas Hold’em Charity Poker Tournaments, Kings & Queens of Good Hearts Fun-Raiser, Celebrity Fan Fest Freaky Car Show, and our annual Taste of Education Dinner.

He is a hard worker, has a ‘can do’ attitude and doesn’t mind staying late for his shifts if it means the event is successful. He has enjoyed meeting celebrities like Kimberly J. Brown and Flash Gordon and making friends along the way. When Jake is not volunteering with SA YES, he is sharing his passion for cooking as a chef in San Antonio.
